Dear Karen,
Your story is an inspiration , and a wake up call to all of us "baby
boomers" who tend to put our health on the back burner. Thank you
for putting out the challenge to all women to be responsible for their
health. Keep your positive attitude.....it works.....I have proof! Keep
smiling and watching those rainbows!
Chris Priska
RN Red Oak Cardiovascular Center
Dear Karen,
Thank you for "going public" with this incredible story. You
have succeeded in taking the fear away...Seeing what you have done, women
will get their mammograms...and survive.

Karen,
Ive read both Parts I & II of you story dealing with your breast
cancer. Its very truthful and encouraging to those who have already dealt
with this type of cancer and for anyone just finding out. As
you know I have gone through this ordeal myself and there is not a morning
I wake up, that I dont think about it. But I refuse to give in to
it and I count my blessings that I'm another day cancer free. I'm so glad
you're doing good. I keep up with your progress through Robyn and
Keith. We do have so much to be thankful for. I have really
enjoyed reading your story.
God Bless You,
Linda
Hi Karen,
So glad to see your story updated on the web page. And so proud
of you for the way you are managing. I would never doubt that you
would be a fighter.....my cousin who was the ringleader in much of our
summer adventure....remember taking Elaine snipe hunting? We love
you and have you in our prayers.
Beverly Fenley
Please let Karen know that not a day goes by that we do not think of
her and pray for her complete recovery.
Michael A. Stafford,
Harris County Attorneys Office
Karen,
I'm not sure you'll remember me, but I used to work with Kingwood Emergency
Services back when KES was dispatching the Pct. 4 Kingwood constable deputies.
You and I did meet at least once. I saw your story in the newspaper.
It is great that you are not hiding and worrying alone. I am very
happy that you are responding so positively to treatment. Keep up
the good work and good medical reports.
Millie Craig
Dear Karen,
All of your friends in the community, and we here, at Radler Enterprises,
wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you in full action.
Mishael Radom
You go, girl. In the face of that famous sense of humor, no illness
would
dare stick around. We say "Karen cheers" everyday, and
are sending you
good thoughts!

Harris County Attorney's Office
Dear Karen,
We are all travelers going from one eternity to the next. Sometimes
the
road is smooth and sometimes it is bumpy. It is always easier
to enjoy the
time we travel when we travel it with friends. I treasure your
friendship.
Barbara Baruch
Dear Karen,
I heard of your illness through E-mail. I just want you to know
that we are standing with you in prayer in you fight against breast cancer.
God will never leave you or forsake you.
Robert Galloway
Read it all. Learned something. Thank You.
I always knew you were special, your article just confirms it.
Bob Malloy
Dear Karen,
My mother was diagnosed in March of 87 with breast cancer. She was not
the type of person to go to the doctor unless she REALLY felt bad.
She said she was afraid they might find something wrong. And they
did, not only did she have breast cancer but it had spread. But I am happy
to say that after 10 straight days of radiation for a tumor that was attached
to her skull, and after 6 months of chemo, she is doing great. After
having more scans, the tumor on her skull has almost disappeared.
She continues to go to her Dr. every three months for blood work, she takes
Tamoxifin every day, her appetite is back to normal. Her Dr. calls
her his prized patient. The battle may not be completely over but, through
lots of prayer it's made the fight a lot easier. I would just like
to say no matter what your age, please, please don't wait to go see your
Dr. Thanks Karen for sharing your story to help others.
Esther
Karen,
Our thoughts are with you as you battle
breast cancer. It's a joy to hear you're doing well through the treatments.
Know that you make a difference in the northwest community. Thanks...
Howard Decker, ThisWeek manager
Karen,
A quote that has challenged me personally
is "The quality of our lives is created less by events than by our unique
reactions to them." Your reaction to your diagnosis -- encouragement and
hope -- has impacted so many lives. It is a priviledge to be your friend.
Ellen Moore
Karen,
You are an inspiration to everyone - both
male and female. You looked cancer square in the eye and refused to quake.
You handled this trauma in your life with class and at the same time you
have inspired others to live healthier lives. Cheryl and I pray for your
continued health as you travel this road to wellness and we pray that soon
you will be able to use this year as a springboard for a very bright future.
Bill and Cheryl Kennedy
Karen --
You know it’s easy seeing you every day
to underestimate the stamina it must take to undergo the mental and physical
trauma you're going through. I've seen cops hurt and injured for nearly
thirty years and I myself have been shot, cut, kicked, beat, and run over
and thought I was pretty tough, but so far you're on top of the tough list.
You're still our "Wonder Woman" and personally, I love you for all you've
done for me. Keep fighting.
Ron Hickman, Assistant Chief, Harris
Co. Pct. 4 Constables
Karen, you're one of the most positive,
strong and enthusiastic people I
know. There's no doubt in my mind that
you'll pull through this challenge
showing others how to handle this from
a position of strength.
Larry Lipton
Hi Karen,
I heard about your battle against breast
cancer. I know the strength it takes. I am a survivor myself. I had my
first surgery in September of 1985. Please know there are lots of us out
here. We are a great support group. I highly encourage you to get involved
in the Susan G. Komen Foundation"s "Race for the Cure." It's a real hands-on
thing we all can do to fight this dreaded disease. And you'll meet some
wonderful women too.
God bless you...
Marci Junge
Dear Karen,
When you read this, here's hoping it will
show that we're thinking of you now and want to let you know in a special
sort of way that our warmest thoughts and wishes will be with you every
day.
Tom & Sue Kikis
Dear Deputy Moore:
We just wanted to pass on to you that our
prayers are with you for a complete recovery. We have only met a few times,
but that should make no difference, we want to hear of your recovery.
Sincerely
Frank Caramanica
Karen--
Even though we don't know each other, we
are all bound together in trying to make the most and best of our lives.
I truly believe that a positive attitude can lead to a positive outcome.
Here are some important axioms from "The Last Flight Out" store----"Laugh
out loud. Jump in mud puddles. Build sandcastles. Sing the wrong words.
Whistle in the dark. Swing as high as you can. Never give up. Follow
your heart. Take the last flight out." Wishing you the best----
Bob & Peggy Ulloms
Having worked for Chief Moore for eight
years, and around the corner from her for two, I have no doubt of her toughness
and resolve. I know she will watch her grandchildren have babies of their
own. . .and if great grandmothers dote more than grandmothers, she will
set a world record!
Lt. Paul Staton, Harris Co. Pct. 4
Constables
Dear Karen,
From the moment we first met (while I was taking the Citizens Police
Academy), I knew what a gutsy lady you are and was in awe of all you have
accomplished and all you continue to do with your life. Now you have once
again proven your strength and determination. Thank you for sharing your
story with all of us. I pray that I never have to fight the battle you
are waging now, but if I am faced with such a challenge, I hope I can meet
it head on with your brand of courage.
God bless you.
Patsy Ward Burk
Karen --
It's an uphill battle but it appears as if you had your hiking boots
ready!
May God Bless you and keep you strong!
Angela Kropik, D.C.
Dear Karen...
You’ve redefined courage by sharing your
story. But what else would anyone expect from you? I’d worry about you
but, when I think of you, your blinding smile blocks out any dark clouds.
You stole our hearts when we first met you...now you have our admiration
and respect, as well.
Jim and Barbara Payne
Karen:
Just a note to let you know your friends in law enforcement are thinking
of you and have you in our prayers. Good luck and if you need us to do
anything for you, let me know. Remember, the good Lord doesnt ever give
us more than he knows we can handle.... hang in there!
Alan Bragg, Chief of Police
Spring ISD Police Dept.

Hey friend -- the squirrels can’t wait and
neither can I!
My thoughts and prayers, along with many
in this community, are on
your side. As I walk I think of you and
can't wait to have you up and back for those early morning walks. You are
such a special lady Karen, and you have a bunch to look forward to. Let
me know when you feel up to a great Italian meal (or you name it) and it
will be on your doorstep. Our love, thoughts and prayers...

Dear Karen,
My mom has been where you are now and went on to live a very full life.
There may be a few lows but think of it this way, the results are less
up front and many more blouses fit. I'm a shoulder if you need one.
Sanna
Karen.
We've not met but we have a mutual friend, Larry Lipton who has told
me that you are having a bit of a tough time right now. My mother (85)
is a "one lunger" for several years now and showing no signs of slowing
down.
You have a big bunch of friends and neighbors who are pulling for you.
Keep the faith and get well fast.
Corbin Shouse
